Hi lovely reader!

Welcome to another issue! I haven’t been all that impressed with the service I’m currently using…. so I am creating my own new rebranded approach to the newsletter. Just a little more testing to do, then hopefully launch in a few weeks with a new look and feel, extra functionality and a site that I control. So hopefully no more issues with links being blocked which a lot of people have had. Plus I can create and change functionality as I wish. Happy days!

As always, if you spot anything you think would be worth a mention, just let me know by sending a message via the online contact form using the navigation link above. Always good to know of others posting about D365 Marketing or if you see anything else other marketers should know about.

Now let’s get on with the newsletter!

Send Session Reminder Email After Event Check-in For In-Person Events

Back with another post that focuses on Event Management and different approaches you can take. This one was inspired by a question from a reader on one of my blogs, and also a recent reminder from Malin Martnes on one of her posts about using Lists in emails. The reader wanted to know if when someone checked in, you could provide them with a list of the sessions they had registered for (thanks for the question Jet!). In this post we will use an out of the box trigger, no need for coding of any kind. We will create an email that can be sent to the attendee when a check-in record is created, so really just for in person events. Let’s take a look!

I Heard It Through The App Vine: Send In-App Notifications Via Journeys

Pauline is coming up with new ways to use triggers, and combine with model-driven app functionality to make users lives easier. This post shows how to use the in-app notifications function that provides pop up notifications at the top of the app. This way you can send messages to people when a Lead or Contact reaches a specific stage of a Journey. Well worth a read!!!

In this post from Renée, she explores the concept of social proof. What is it? And how does it make use feel like we are connected in some way? Using the concept, she looks at using this idea to encourage people to register for our events.

Announcing Card gallery, a new data control in Power Pages

You might be wondering what this one has to do with the Marketing App… but stay with me. Now that you can create an Events portal using a Power Pages website, this new feature is definitely going to be of interest to anyone wanting to go down that path. The card gallery example given on this article even shows then using one of the Event related tables. Imagine taking the layout to display all of your upcoming events, or for a user logged in and showing all of their upcoming registrations. Could be a game changer!

Nordic Summit 2024

If you don’t got to any other event this year, try and get to this one. It’s such a welcoming atmosphere, and not as MASSIVE as some of the other ones so still is very much a positive community vibe. Tickets are going on sale soon, but mark your calendar for 28th September with a trip to Oslo, Norway. There is also a session from Pauline Kolde who is featured in this newsletter a lot. Going to be a good one!

The Personalization Paradox: Can Banks Delight Customers Without Creeping Them Out?

Might seem like a slightly strange one to feature, but I think we can learn from different industries when it comes to marketing and trying to provide a ‘personalised’ experience for our customers. Can we actually end up overstepping boundaries and instead of ‘delighting’ our customers, we end up being intrusive and perhaps downright creepy?
