So many great articles this week, with links to a forum, video, articles and a survey you can take should you want to share some of your own findings from 2024 in relation to marketing.
As always, if you spot anything you think would be worth a mention, just let me know by sending a message via the online contact form using the navigation link above. Always good to know of others posting about D365 Marketing or if you see anything else other marketers should know about.
Now let’s get on with the newsletter!

Auto Assign Leads Without Code Using Lead Scoring & Work Assignment
Megan V. Walker
I’ve written about creating your Lead Scoring models in Customer Insights – Journeys, and also explained how the Lead Scoring Qualification functionality works. I’m not really keen on the Qualification process as it’s not the right approach for everyone and it doesn’t assign Leads to people based on them reaching a specific score. However, if you have D365 Sales Premium, D365 Sales Enterprise or Microsoft Relationship Sales licenses, you can assign leads to specific teams or users when their score gets to a specified threshold. This post will show you how to achieve that.
Community Forum Changes
Microsoft
Using the Microsoft Community Forums is a great way to get answers and ideas from others using the same product. They have recently undergone a restructure so if you use the one for Marketing (CI-J) you may already have seen it getting redirected to another page. It’s now the Customer Experience forum and covers Sales, Customer Insights and CRM (?).
Understanding the Feature Switches in Customer Insights – Journeys
Jesper Osgaard
This is the kind of content Microsoft should be updating each time there is a new feature switch, but thankfully, we have this post from Jesper that goes through each of the current switches and explains what they are for. Do you know what each one does?
LinkedIn Lead Sync Integration with Dynamics 365 Customer Insights – Journeys
Jinal Makwana
If you are using the LinkedIn Lead Generation capabilities, then I really hope you are aware that they will be removed from December 2nd. Once LinkedIn Lead Gen capabilities are removed, Customer Insights – Journeys will stop receiving data from LinkedIn forms. Thankfully, Jinal has come up with a way in which you can develop your own custom integration for LinkedIn lead management within CIJ (both Outbound and Real-time), enabling continued lead capture and processing from LinkedIn. Not easy and not for beginners, but all the information is there for you.
Chat 2 - Marketing Journeys - Real-time Chats
Amey Holden & Megan V. Walker
Amey and I have a little catch up, and chat about some new features that have just come out in November, delve in to Lead Scoring in Real-time, and try not to panic too much when it comes to changes after June 2025 when outbound disappears, specifically the Events Portal – all while loving Customer Insights – Journeys.
Your first agent with Copilot Studio: A little transition helper
Pauline Kolde
I love this one from Pauline, thinking outside the box. She looked at creating a helper for the transition to real-time marketing. Users may find the shift from outbound marketing to real-time marketing in Dynamics 365 overwhelming. Many of them ask questions about new features, best practices, and adapting their strategies. An agent assists users instantly, smoothing and streamlining the transition. Take a look at how she did this.

The Future of Event Marketing: Leveraging 2025 Trends in CI-Journeys
Customer Experience User Group
This is the final meetup of the year for the Customer Experience User Group and they are going to be joined by Renée van der Walt. She will talk about understanding and applying the top five event trends of 2025—ranging from sustainability to year-round engagement—to optimize customer journeys, drive deeper engagement, and enhance overall event outcomes. It’s free to register and attend, a good one not to miss!
