Hi lovely reader!

Wishing you a VERY happy new year for 2025! Hope you had a wonderful holiday season, no matter how you celebrated. We are right back in to it, and considering it’s been a few quiet weeks we still have a decent amount to check out this week. Enjoy!

As always, if you spot anything you think would be worth a mention, just let me know by sending a message via the online contact form using the navigation link above. Always good to know of others posting about D365 Marketing or if you see anything else other marketers should know about.

Now let’s get on with the newsletter!

Personalize messages, make journey decisions based on web interactions

Well we’ve been waiting what seems like years, but website tracking in Realtime Marketing is finally here, albeit in preview and with limited features. You need to be on the December release to see it, then turn on a feature switch. Take a look at the documentation page, and check out my post below for how it all works.

Website Tracking In Realtime Marketing – How Does It Work?

The Website Tracking for Realtime Marketing is FINALLY here. A long awaited feature that has been pushed several times from Wave to Wave, now we can see it in it’s preview state. In this post I will walk through what the feature has in this iteration… and what you might consider ‘missing’ that will hopefully be released by the time it’s generally available. Let’s take a look!

List, Filter and Delete Flows in Power Automate

You might be thinking, why is there a post in here about Power Automate? Well read on…. this DEFINITELY relates to Customer Insights – Journeys and is likely REALLY of interest to your System Administrator as each Journey creates a new flow. Read on for more from Amey on a suggestion for handling this.

Create a formatted ‘Thank you notification’ in real-time forms

Hooray! We’ve got a new blogger in town. Very happy to see that after doing a guest post on Pauline Kolde’s website, Johanne has taken the leap with a blog of his own. His first post is great, all about creating a formatted thank you notification message for your realtime marketing forms. His approach creates a much nicer formatted message, definitely something I will start implementing!

Sustainability in Email Marketing

I just love blogs from Renée, she explains concepts and real world business ideas often that I’ve never thought about before. This one looks at calculating the footprint and sustainable practices for your events and email marketing.

Exporting CI-J interaction data from Fabric

I’m asked a lot about custom reporting for Customer Insights – Journeys. The answer is to use Microsoft Fabric, and understand how Dataverse (D365) links to your interaction data, and then using Power BI to display it. In this post from Peter, he explains how you can export that data, which might be a useful option for organisations with their own data warehouse or other options for storing the data.

Perhaps one of the first major events of 2025, Townhall Tallinn is coming up at the end of January. Check out the sessions, there are several related to Customer Insights – Journeys, so if you are able to make it to Estonia, go for it!

ColorCloud Event 2025

I’ve shared about this event a few times, but very exciting that now the speakers are announced, and even more excited that I have a session at the event in Hamburg, Germany in April this year. Hooray! If you can make it, would be great to see you!
