Hi lovely reader!

We’ve got a couple of webinars including with one with Amey Holden and I with two options either tonight or tomorrow morning (depending on your time zone). Also some articles on making things easy on yourself generating links in relation to event and sessions registrations so check those out.

Personal note, I did it! Finished the 50 KM challenge in Windsor this past Saturday, in under 10 1/2 hours (just over 9 excluding mandatory rest stops). So very proud to have completed it, and raised close to £2,500 in the process.

Thank you to everyone who sent messages and donated. 🩷💙🩷💙

As always, if you spot anything you think would be worth a mention, just let me know by sending a message via the online contact form using the navigation link above. Always good to know of others posting about D365 Marketing or if you see anything else other marketers should know about.

Create Add To Outlook Link For Session Or Event Registrations

If you’ve been doing anything with Events and running them specifically for online webinars you might have struggled with the ICS file option, or even the Join in Teams link. It can be a pain, and the ability to import an ICS file is challenging and frankly not all that obvious to a lot of users. Clicking on a link and having Outlook online open with all of the event details already in there is a LOT easier in terms of user experience. How can we do that with Customer Insights Journeys? This post will show you how. It might look like a long post, but most of it is breaking down the formula field you need to create to explain each step. It’s pretty quick and simple really!

Unique Join Link for Teams Meetings and Webinars in Dynamics 365 Customer Insights - Journeys

Customer Insights – Journeys integrates with Microsoft Teams to support trackable meeting experiences. The ‘standard’ way to do this is by adding the ‘Join in Teams’ button to event confirmations and reminders via a journey. Unique join links can be generated for each event registration. These links enable individual-level tracking of attendance and engagement, which flows back into the event in Dynamics 365 as ‘Check-ins’ which works beautifully. How can we send a unique join link to attendees so they can join the Teams Meeting or Webinar with automatically tracked attendance? Amey shows us an easy and awesome way to do this.

Why Personalization Is Driving Fatigue Instead of Engagement

An interesting article about why personalisation can sometimes feel a bit strange to your customers. Instead of it feeling warm and fuzzy, it can feel fake and like AI. This post talks about when personalisation can work and help your brand and message rather than hurt it.
