Hi lovely reader!

This week I’ve got information on the form prefill feature in Realtime, how to get specific lookup fields on to your forms, and how to handle bounces in a unique way. Also, information on a little scam that came across my inbox that I thought you might like to be aware of!

As always, if you spot anything you think would be worth a mention, just let me know by sending a message via the online contact form using the navigation link above. Always good to know of others posting about D365 Marketing or if you see anything else other marketers should know about.

Now let’s get on with the newsletter!

Form Prefill In Customer Insights Journeys for Realtime Marketing

The form pre-fill functionality has been around for years, but for Outbound marketing. It was added to Realtime in the September 2024 update in preview. The really exciting thing about how the pre-fill works in Realtime that differs with Outbound, is that cookies are not relied on for it to work. Awesome! This means we can send out an email to a Lead or Contact with a link to a page that contains a form, and the values we want to include as pre-filled are populated based on context passed through in the URL. Let’s jump in!

Add the Company Name Lookup to a Marketing Forms in Customer Insights Journeys

Amey has written a nice tip for us on how to add the Company Name lookup on to a Contact based marketing form in Realtime Marketing. Combined with my post on form prefill, this might be something you want to add to the form perhaps as read only so it can’t be changed, and none of the other values can be displayed, but this is a great way to understand how to get around this type of field!

A worrying scam backed up by an AI-generated website

Yesterday I received an email telling me I had been using an image on this site that was owned by someone else, and I needed to provide a link back to that image in order to credit their client, and it needed to be done within five business days. Also that just removing the issue wouldn’t rectify the issue. It seemed a little fishy especially as I get my images from a place where they can be used for free…. and after doing a bit of searching online, found a post on Reddit, and this article that confirmed my suspicions. I thought I would share it in case you ever get this and can then just ignore it!
