This issue is jam packed full of content. It seems like everyone decided this was the week to get out a new blog post, which makes my job a whole lot easier. TONS of great stuff for you to go and check out including a new video from myself and Amey Holden.
As always, if you spot anything you think would be worth a mention, just let me know by sending a message via the online contact form using the navigation link above. Always good to know of others posting about D365 Marketing or if you see anything else other marketers should know about.
Now let’s get on with the newsletter!
D365 Marketing
Chat 1 - Marketing Journeys - Real-time Chats
Amey Holden & Megan V. Walker
Something new from Amey Holden and I! We have a little catch up, and chat about some new features that have just come out in September and October, delve in to the form prefill feature, and share war stories about working the text messages and the SMS feature in real-time marketing – all while loving Customer Insights – Journeys.
Using Lead Scoring Qualification Functionality
Megan V. Walker
If you’ve started using Lead Scoring in Realtime Marketing as part of Customer Insights – Journeys, nice one! That’s a great start. Hopefully you’ve also started building segments to find people who have a over a specific score to send them on Journeys, even better! You might have then noticed the other option in the Lead Management section for Lead Scoring Qualification. Exciting! Well, before you get carried away or assume what it will do, let’s take a deep dive so you can see if it’s even right for you and your organisation.
Make Forms in Customer Insights Journeys a little bit more beautiful
Amey Holden
I love a compilation blog post where it gives you several tips and ideas in one. This is one from Amey where she looks at how you can make your marketing forms just a little more beautiful. Some great tips and ideas from her!
Personalization Mistakes from My Inbox
Renée van der Walt
I love ❤️ Renée’s blogs. She takes a unique way of looking at real world issues, even taking inspiration from her own email inbox and sharing some tips based on mistakes she has seen made when trying to send personalised emails. Definitely one to check out and make sure you aren’t falling in to the same traps!
What is D365 Customer Insights?
Stephani McDowell
Hopefully if you are subscribed to this newsletter, you know what Customer Insights is… but this could be really useful for sharing with clients if you are a consultant, or if you want a reminder or are curious about licenses and pricing for the product. And congratulations to Stephani for her first blog! Hope to see more things from her in the future.
Javascript library for real-time marketing form in Customer Insights
Pauline Kolde
You can be forgiven if you think you’ve seen this one before, because you have when Pauline first published this fantastic JavaScript library back in June 2024. However, she just added a new one, showing the use of three different option sets with dependencies. If you’ve not seen it before, this is well worth using. In fact, I just used it late last week because I was too lazy to write my own script and knew Pauline had already put what I needed on this post. Thanks Pauline! 🥰
Implementing cascading dropdown fields in RTM forms
Peter Krause
Very similar to Pauline above, Peter has put together a great article on adding cascading dropdown fields on your Realtime marketing forms. Cascading fields or nested fields are a handy solution when you want to create a parent-child relationship for filtering data, for example list only those cities that are in a specific country. Take a look at how he has approached this with some JavaScript.

6 outdated AI marketing trends you should retire in 2025
MarTech - Comarch
Ooh I like this one for helping understand which AI marketing trends no longer deliver results, and why. If you’ve been trying to implement AI in to your marketing efforts, or feel like you might be falling behind, this is good to try and understand more about what should be looked at now rather than then!
