Got lots going on this week! It seems this little newsletter is gradually building momentum, with over 500 of you now subscribed. Thank you so much for the support, and hope it’s providing useful information to you each week. 😊
As always, if you spot anything you think would be worth a mention, just let me know by sending a message via the online contact form using the navigation link above. Always good to know of others posting about D365 Marketing or if you see anything else other marketers should know about.
Now let’s get on with the newsletter!
D365 Marketing
How D365 Marketing Uses Cookies

This is not new, but has recently had an update to it. It’s also something that is worth knowing and understanding, how cookies are used in conjunction with D365 Marketing. Also, making sure you have detailed the cookie information in your websites privacy policy so people understand what cookies your site is using. Go check this one out!
Frequency Capping To Avoid Message Fatigue In Real-time Marketing
MEGAN V. WALKER
One of the much needed features from Wave 1 2023 for marketing was the ability to set a cap on the number of messages someone could be sent. Limiting the number of messages with frequency capping was made generally available in the April 2023 release, which means it’s ready to go and to start being used in Production environments. How do you use it? It’s pretty straight forward, but take a look to make sure you know what to expect, then go and set your caps! Let’s take a look.
Enable Email Address Validation In Dynamics 365 (Preview Feature)
NISHANT RANA
I spotted this post from fellow MVP, Nishant Rana which caught my eye! Check it out to understand how the new email address validation feature works in model-driven apps. This means that you will be able to use it in D365 Marketing, with a little bit of customisation. I’ll have a post on how to do this coming soon!
Events
Nordic Summit 2023
NORDIC SUMMIT COMMUNITY
I’ve been lucky enough to visit and present at two Nordic Summit events, and it’s by far one of my favourites. Previously hosted in Sweden, the event will be in beautiful Copenhagen, Denmark on September 23rd. The sessions are still yet to be announced but there are sure to be some focused on D365 Marketing!
Marketing Professionals | MS Dynamics 365 & Power Platform
DYNAMICS USER GROUP (DUG)
Not an event, but a user group to join, that hosts events. This is a global user group for Marketing Professionals within the Microsoft Dynamics community. Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform enthusiasts will converge at times or meet individually to discuss marketing topics, learn and share ideas and to uniquely engage. Dynamics Users, SIs and ISV’s – and everyone in-between – can connect to share ideas and meet in person for some great networking.

Microsoft Teams now lets you charge for a class, webinar, or other in-meeting service
ZDNET - LANCE WHITNEY
I think this one could be interesting for many people. There is a public preview of a new payments app that integrates with Microsoft Teams. I haven’t tried it out so not sure if it would work with Webinars/Teams Live Events but it states it can be used during a meeting. This could be good for Events where you are hoping to take donation amounts, or for payments for a service. One to be aware of!
Link Substack to Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
MEGAN V. WALKER
I use a tool called Substack to put together and distribute this weekly newsletter. I love data and analytics, and although Substack provides some insights for me to review, it’s missing in some areas. I noticed there was an option in the settings area under Advertising analytics and saw there was a way to link Substack to Google Analytics 4 (GA4) but there were no instructions. I figured out how to set it up and thought it might help others in the future, hence this blog post. Hope it helps someone!
Microsoft Clarity Session Insights
MICROSOFT
I’ve written a lot about Microsoft Clarity in the past, and always interested in new features they bring out. Not wanting to miss out on the whole Copilot craze going on, Clarity have provided a new feature they are calling Session Insights. I tried it out with my own site, and I am impressed (blog post coming soon) as the level of insights it can provide is logical and detailed. If you are using Clarity already, check it out. If you are not and want to know more, you can read through some of my previous posts here.
